Keeping in view the deficiency of health care facilities available to the population of the Southern Punjab in general and the population of the Multan Division in particular, The Trust decided ultimately to establish Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Trust Hospital, Northern Bypass, Multan. In order to obtain this challenging objective a big piece of land measuring about 12 acre was purchased on Northern Bypass, Multan for a handsome amount. A renowned architect was engaged to design a 500 bedded hospital. The present designed hospital would consist of 7 blocks as under:-
· Out Patient Block
· Emergency Block
· Diagnostic Block
· Medical Block
· Surgical Block
· Mother & Child Care (MCA) Block
· Services Block
The proposed covered area spread over 7 blocks is 352000 Sqft and 125,000 Sqft of 4 residential areas around 43% land has been left for roads, parks, parking sheds and landscaped areas to meet with environmental requirements and to give a touch of natural beauty to the hospital. The estimated project cost of the hospital is Rs. 2 Billion. The design of the building provides a blend of modern and traditional architecture in the shape of purpose built teaching hospital, laboratories, operation theatres and residential area.
The first phase of the hospital building with covered area of 55,000 Sqft consisting of one block has been completed. The Total cost of land, construction, medical equipment and diagnostic equipment has so far been Rs. 188 Million. At present it consists of 150 beds with the latest amenities. The hospital has become functional under the following heads.
